Islands and mountains is a small project dedicated to hiking trips and mountaineering.
You might have noticed that the number of destinations on offer seems low. At first glance this might seem to us modest, if we consider the size of our Earth… little more than twenty routes, distributed in five geographic regions. However, we aim at quality and our goal is to provide greater depth and understanding of those natural areas.
Another reason to limit the number of destinations is the human dimension of the company. To implement our activities, cooperation of a number of people is needed but in case of islands and mountains, there is only one single person – the guide – and the idea is to keep it that way. In other projects we use other co-workers and guides, usually when it comes to technical and complex routes, which for safety reasons so require. In other activities that we offer the aim is to take advantage of their knowledge, in very specific areas: fauna, flora, photography … But in any case our goal as a company is to grow and grow…
The regions we travel on our trips are small perhaps but very dense, and the way we move, walk, makes its dimensions change, as if those territories grew in front of our eyes and under our feet. Those regions offer a variety of landscapes and climates, and a thousand hills to climb, beautiful mountains, which stand out for their beauty.
